Location: Perryville, MO | I'm a sucker for beautiful baits as much as the next guy...perhaps. But I'm curious if anyone that has loved Suick Thrillers has ever made the switch to one of the fancy customs made. No doubt there are some sweet looking baits made by talented builders that would appear to perform a whole lot like "the ole stick with hooks." And of course, each, I'm sure, has a subtle variation, but have any of you who once threw Suicks faithfully ever actually found a bait you believe generally outperforms the Thriller, one that has become your go-to.
I personally can't imagine it. But what do I really know? I believe in its magic!  |

I got my hands on some Lil Foolers that Guide's Choice had on sale at the last in person Chicago Show.. They don't seem to be as "tunable" but seem to show potential as you you can play with the weight... There's the Bobbie baits, and Burts. I should spend more time with these as well...

I got my hands on some Lil Foolers that Guide's Choice had on sale at the last in person Chicago Show.. They don't seem to be as "tunable" but seem to show potential as you you can play with the weight... There's the Bobbie baits, and Burts. I should spend more time with these as well...

| I am a big fan of all the different suicks and they are often my go to bait in tough conditions. Having said that I am also a big fan of Pandemonium SRJ. It is a dive and rise jerk bait with a more subtle rise and rubber tail. I wouldnt say one or the other is better .. each has their own action. |

It looks like it hasn't been updated for quite some time, so I'd say "no". The place has had a "for sale" sign in front for several years as well. The store itself is pretty well stocked, but they haven't been keeping up on their custom stuff. |

| I’m a big fan of the big fork sandcat in 8” but they don’t necessarily replace suicks for me. I use both, but generally use sand cats more, especially when I want a more active/shimmy presentation and use longer sweeps of the rod. I get great body roll and side to side swinging with the 8” Sandcat. When I want deeper and more hang I use custom weighted HI suicks and I also have a widow maker t bone I just got that I like so far. |

| If you want a deep running fish the weedline/break line dive and rise that maintains its wiggle and shimmy,,nothing beats the Big Daddy,,and it doesn't have to be a lead pipe with double weight inserts. |

| 10" Suick that is weighted is killer after turn over, 10" Suick unweighted is a great tool for working thru the weeds.
Just watch Doug J. from the old in fisherman tapes! Also a big fan of the Big Daddy and Bobbie! And if you really want to get deep weighted Burt and Rizzo's Big "T". |

The Musky Shop told me they're slotted for late Dec 2021-Mid Jan 2022. So any day now really. I personally expect it to be alot later than that. I'm sure there will be a promo video once they're released. |

Location: Twin Cities Metro | I LOVE the Sandcats, but they are just a bit limited in their weighting. You can’t just add weight to control their rise/fall rate without wrecking that beautiful wobble. When the weighting is right for the conditions, though, they are magical.
Like many others, I am eagerly awaiting the Titan.
I still love my Suicks, of course. My weight system is the tried and true bell sinker on a hook split ring... any one of the three to get either head up or tail up rises. So far the Suick is more endlessly versatile, but that could change.

| I used a Navin with a guide 2 years ago. Works well and should catch fish. So I bought one at the Musky Show this season. It won't replace any Suick in my boat (at twice the price), but It sure is pretty. |

Location: Minneapolis, Minnesota | I bought one of each size of the kodiak navin late this fall. Didn’t get a lot of time in with them but I did cast them all and each size has a little different action. The 10 and 12” have a huge am amount of shimmy after they dive. All of the sizes fish almost like a cross between a glider and a suick, way more side to side movement than a normal suick. The navins are significantly bigger than suicks for the same length so comparing a 10” to a 10” isn’t really fair. Without any weight I’d say they are about as buoyant as an unweighted suick but they all can be tuned to how you want with adding weights. Definitely going to put in some time early season with that 8”, and I think that 12 with some weight will be really good post turnover. If your going to pick one up, a 12” is size/weight wise similar to the frankensuick |
