Opinions? I would get the St Croix Legend but money is tight and I'm looking at the Chaos Tackle rods that I'll be using for bull dawgs and tubes.

Have the surgical strike model, very nice. It is rated very truly to its ratings, has a nice action to it, and is pretty light. In all honesty, I don't believe that you would regret a purchase of any chaos tackle rod.

My father and I run both the Swat and Shock & Awe models in 9ft telescoping. We love the Swat for everything up to reg medussas, mag dawgs, and tubes. If your planning on thowing a lot of pounders or husky medussas then I would go with the Shock & Awe. Love both rods!

For the money Chaos Vs St Croix you are going to get as much or more rod with a Chaos rod and for half the price as the St Croix. JMO and I am a competitor of Ricks too and have some of his rods as well as some St Croix rods. JMO but get eh Chaos rod and you will be very pleased.

Chaos Tackle rods are less expensive than LT, but they're definitely not a downgrade IMO. I have both types of rods.

The Shock & Awe is great with big rubber/blades.

Let us know how you like it. I'm following the thread and may be looking at a Chaos rod in the future.

What is the warranty on the Chaos rods? Does it compare to the warranty St Croix offers?

that's the diff,,I think the Chaos is only 6 months,,,however didn't deter me two weeks ago when I was in R&H I bought the 9ft tele shock and awe after holding it,,guy before me bought 3 of them.. if you want one anybody should order one now, I foresee these being unable to keep up with demand soon,,which usually means a price increase to follow.
