| What leaders are you guys using for your shallow swimmin dawgs, mags and regulars? |

For the Magnums I use the 11"

I would not ever use Fluorocarbon leaders with these baits you will get bit off a lot of big fish head hit these and have 1-2" of leader in their mouth when you net them.
I know several guys that made that mistake.
Also make sure you put a #7 Split ring on the front of them it gives them a little better action with more belly roll also need it to connect these leaders to the lure. But even if you choose a leader with a snap still put a splitring on the lure.

| I have found the solid wire tends to tangle the front hook less. I usually cut my wire leader at 10" for the simple reason they fit in the storage box better. |

I throw fluoro more when fishing around weeds only because I hate kinked leaders. I couldn’t keep the mag regular (deep) from fouling the front hook 3/4 casts and I catch 10x the fish on Poseidon 10’s so I’ve never gone back to the mag swim dawgs.
The only reason I choose wire is when I have leaders set up for small baits like gliders that are finicky with leaders. I’ve never had a fish head hunt one of these and I’ve caught close to 230 fish on them. |

I really like the newer Mag Shallow Swimming Dawgs. Better action in the water, and far less fouling as the hook placement is better. Far better product imo. I use 150# or 180# flouro leaders. I haven't had any issues since I jumped up from 100# and 130# years ago.
I have heard this about the newer shallow dawgs and living on a shallow, weedy chain, I am interested. Had an earlier version, was not impressed. Is there some way of knowing you are buying the newer version? |

The new shallow swimmin dawgs are labeled as such. They are called the mag shallow swimmin dawg, which is around 10” and the regular shallow swimmin dawg, which is around 8”. They have a rounder body versus the flat body of the original swimmin dawgs. They have more belly roll due to the round body. |
