Hey guys, I'm looking to pick up a 8' 6" XH rod and going between the Premier or Mojo. I like the full grip of the premier, but wondering really what the differences are since they are basically the same price, Mojo being $10 more. Thanks.

The new mojo’s are good rods. I picked up 2 last year and after throwing them I say they’re not quite as good as a legend tournament but pretty close. I have a premier but can’t give you an apples to apples comparison as the premier is 7’6” H and my mojos are 9’ H and 8’6” MH. I’ve got a LT big nasty and I ended up throwing my 9’ H mojo almost as much as the big nasty.

The new mojos are built on SC3 materials I believe. The premier is SC2. SC3 is the “Avid” blank material. A step above the premier and a step below the Legend Tournament. If it’s a new mojo vs premier for only $10 more, I would buy the mojo.

I agree with musky513. I have 3 musky rods. 2 are Legend Tournaments and 1 Mojo Musky. I've been very pleased with the Mojo Musky. The only nice thing about the Premier is that it is made in WI vs. Mexico. However as pointed out the Mojo does have the SCIII graphite vs SCII in the Premier.

So what you all are saying is that the MOJO is the better quality rod?

Yes, the materials that the blank is made of is better.

I didn't realize that the premiere was lesser quality before. Buying American is 1 thing and Buying better quality is another. Seems like a personal preference when you boil it down. For roughly the same price you either buy American or better quality. To each their own with that 1

Yea it looks like the Mojo are blanked at a higher quality, but I'm also looking for a full grip. I have a split grip as my rubber rod and the thing just digs into my ribs too much. Looking for the full grip for my rubber rod.
