Location: Menomonie, WI | I'm heading to the Hayward area this year, (instead of Vilas) for the annual trip with the boys. Anyone have a suggestion on any places to stay in the Hayward area that are located on or near some good water for big Ski?? Any info. would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance

| We have stayed at the Bucktail Lodge for 5 years and really like it. It is on Barker Lake. We also stayed at R and R Bayview on the Chip. I would recommend either one. Both have great food. |

Enough said, great food and drinks, great cabins, and bruce and sarah run on heck of a resort. Also, you will be on LCO, Grindstone across street, Chip is 15 miles, and Big Siss is 15-20 miles. I would definitely try to hook up with dave dorazio, one of the best.

| Ditto what SVL and Troy said about Dave Dorazio. Now, Dave will say he has only been guiding for 37 or 38 years, and he started at 13. I say he is using fuzzy math, because 13 + 37 = WAY less than his age. I think SVL is correct. 13 + forever = DaveD's real age. LOL Have a great time!

Ya, Dave Dorazio. Feed him Peppered Jerky and don't forget the Diet Pepsi for the love all that is good or else he'll take you to lake loser.

| I have stayed at Angler's Haven on LCO, and agree with TroyZ it is top notch. Lotsa lakes in the area to be fished.
I've stayed at Deerfoot Lodge, and Chief Lake Lodge on the Chip. Deerfoot is in a good central location close to famous spots, and has a good family type atmosphere. Good burgers and a nice lodge. If you want to fish the west end, Chief Lake Lodge is a nice place, and has newly remodeled cabins. Nice people, and good pizza! |

| Angler's Haven on LCO is the best place I have stayed at anywhere, so if you can get in there, then go with that. Troy and I enjoy their food and drinks when we are fishing LCO. If you have your own boat, I would fish Grindstone as well. It is very similar to LCO and you can troll on both. We can let you know how to fish it if you decide to stay there. I also love fishing the Chip but others can recommend the lodges. By all means get a guide if you have never fished the lake you decide to visit. Good luck.
