Posts: 164 | I don't know which model is the best but I have a GoPro Hero 8 Black that gets amazing video. Fairly affordable price as well. I know people who have the Silver and they like that as well but not near as good of quality as the Black.

Posts: 416 Location: Madtown, WI | You'll have to elaborate what you mean by "best", the latest model will always be the best which is currently the Hero 9 Black. If you don't know much about cameras in general, a GoPro is likely not for you. They are a professional camera and you are paying for bells and whistles that you'll likely never use. I have a HERO7 black and can't justify the $ for new features that the 8/9 offer although you can probably squeeze a bit more battery life out of the 9s, perhaps not substantial. I had also owned a HERO3 and HERO5, they were certainly "good enough" for fishing purposes and other general use.

Posts: 173 Location: Minnesota | I am just looking for a camera that will have good picture quality. Best bang for the buck essentially. I am looking to catch some of my Muskie encounters on camera. Which version is suitable for a beginner? Edited by Muskyhunter10 12/1/2020 3:44 PM

Posts: 381 Location: SW Ohio | I have two Hero 5s that I run. One is one a Yolotek mount in the rear light socket and the other on an adjustable clamp I attach to the windshield. Both are powered by the boat battery and run in the “loop” mode. I’d need to buy larger SD cards to run them full video all day. Both give pretty good video and take all but the worst boat movement out of the video.

Posts: 611 Location: Michigan | No need to get an actual GoPro is just using it for fishing clips. I have one of these and it works really well for my fishing clips. https://www.amazon.com/AKASO-Sports-Waterproof-Camcorder-EK7000SL/dp... I then pair it with a 128GB SD card and this external battery which will allow you to film for multiple days without running out of storage or battery. https://www.amazon.com/Anker-PowerCore-13000-Portable-Charger/dp/B00...
