My current boat is running a Mercury Optimax 200 2-stroke motor. Considering re-powering with the new Mercury Pro XS 4-stroke V-8 with digital throttle and shift. Anyone have any experience with this motor? Looking for both performance and reliability info. Thanks.

Great engine, we see a lot of them in extreme use on the Bass and Walleye circuits.

I guide friend had one this year and he told me it’s a great engine. He runs on Lake of the Woods, so it got tested.

I had one this summer and was really impressed with it. Long term durability is still unknown but in day to day use I loved it.

i just got a 2020 200hp Pro XS this past spring on my new Alumacraft T-Pro 195. You will love this motor, the torque is unreal. the hole shot will keep up with or beat any 2 stroke out of the hole. its been amazing so far.

Muskysaloon, what top speed are you getting with the ProXS on your Alumacraft, and what prop and pitch size?

Interesting. What's your RPM at full throttle with that prop?
