Location: Rhinelander, Wisconsin | It is 43 degrees here, with winds gusting to 25 MPH. The snow is GONE on the snowmobile trails, spelling doom for the Holiday Weekend snowmobile business here in the north. I can't remember anything like we have seen the last few winters here. A few days ago it was below zero, today over 40. Only good news is the deer will make it through if we get two more weeks of moderate weather, which looks like a certainty. I am headed out to a lake in the area with a high south face shore to block some of the wind, and see if I can get a few gills before all the ice is under water. Green grass in my front yard at the end of December... |

| This is wild stuff here in Chicago area too. I might be able to get the boat out for a New Years fish if it last a couple more days. I can see how it really hurts the tourest ind. up in your area and Vilas. If all the cold weather will bypass our area and head toward you that's just fine by me. LOL |

Location: Rhinelander, Wisconsin | Well, today it was 28 degrees, and snowing some from Lake Effect. Everything is frozen up solid again, but the snow is pretty much shot on the Snowmobile trails. The ice is fine, though!
