| I have never owned a boat just rented a few pontoons and basic bench seat deep v's. Do any of you own either of these? How do you like them? What don't you like about them? I'm looking at these 2 because of their size,price,and options. Lund would be my 1st choice.. I'm a 300+ lb fella who will most likely be fishing alone or with 1 other. I live in Pittsburgh and plan on using it on our rivers (except mid allegheny), lakes ( which most have 20hp restrictions), and presque isle with possibility of good weather near shore Erie. I want the smallest big boat for these purposes. I will only be putting on a 20hp motor due to the restrictions and won't be expecting a rocket. I have a motorcycle for that. Hoping to get one for next year.
Anything you fine folks could give advice with would be appreciated |

Location: Miller time Wisconsin. | I have a 2020 Lund Fury 1600 tiller that I ordered this spring, but I have a 40 hp Yamaha. It will do 30 mph, just for speed/hp reference. I ordered it with the fuel hider door, trolling motor harness, carpeted upper bow deck. So far I love it. If your dealer sells Trailmaster trailers strongly consider getting one as they are a very nice upgrade from a shoreland'r. I ordered my Trailmaster with a torsion axle, matching blue paint, 2 spares, aluminum wheels, and C channel.

Location: oswego, il | Both seem like nice boats. The lund might be lighter. The lund has a composite transom the tracker an aluminum transom. Both have the same size rod box. The tracker has a reverse chine hull while the lund doesn't state it probably has one too. Tough choice since they spec pretty identical.even in price. I would look at them both to make that call.

Location: Rhinelander, Wisconsin | The Lund IPS hull is the biggest difference. I have a 1625, and the ride is excellent and boat-at-rest very stable. I also have the roller trailer, and it loads and unloads easily and will not fall off the trailer with the bow strap off as I back in an average landing. |

| Glad you love your boat they seem like a perfect blend. With their size,comfort, price, stability, weight, weight capacity, storage,,... the lund dealer around here deals tohatsu motors ( who make the mercury ) told me that a 20hp will get around 17-22 mph which is plenty. That IPS hull helps with that. He had one with that setup plus 55lb minnkota, hummingbird helix5, upgraded 1500 trailer, with spare tire and load guides, dual battery charger, 2nd battery, and a few other options for $14,400. If I had a place to store it I probably would have bought it that day. What's 144 EASY payments lol. I've been trying to find used ones but have only found 2 in the last 3 months which tells me what people think of them. I might just try to find a cheap beater for m y first boat to learn the waters and not worry about breaking it down on rocks,sand bars, and other debris. But that fury definitely has my eye for what I want. |

| I own a 2017 Lund 16'4" Lund Fury tiller with a Terova I-Pilot Minn-Kota that uses my 20 HP Honda outboard. For a big guy might I suggest considering the extended seat pedestals. Otherwise you'll be squatting down a bit, bad for back issues. Not sure about winds >> 15 mph. If I had to do it over I'd have have put the 40 HP on it. It planes fine for 1 person but when I have a passenger it slows down to max @ 12 MPH. BTW another consideration I bought the oversized Shoreland Trailer makes launching and loading much easier when alone.

Location: Mt. Zion, IL | be sure when you're buying a boat that is under powered that you buy the engine with the biggest cubic inches in its class. displacement makes a lot of difference. When I fished power plant lakes with 25 hp limits, we never saw yamaha or honda motors on the lake. Suzuki used to be king of cubic inches and torque with their 3 cylinder df25 until the etec came around. |

Location: Shoreview, MN | I have a Lund Rebel 1600 which is basically what the Fury replaced. I have a 40 hp eTec and runs great but I think you’re gonna be quite underpowered with a 20 hp - esp if it’s a 4-stoke, may take a long time to get up on plane with you and another person in the boat ... but if that’s a reg you need to meet then maybe ? Alumacraft makes a 14.5’ Escape that may be lighter and better suited for a 20 hp - not sure ... |

| If you go with Lund DEFINITELY up grade to the Trailmaster trailer if you can. This trailer is built like a tank. There is no place for water to collect and sit unlike tube style trailers. If you can check one out at the launch that is parked empty you will see the difference.

| Would I prefer a 40hp? Of course!!! Our hp restrictions used to be 9.9hp and I've rented Pontoons that had them and we moved along ok. Plenty of fisherman had to run them for years and did ok. The 20hp has twice the power and the fury1600 only weighs 500 lbs. Not looking to cross the Atlantic here just get off the banks and get to where the fish actually are instead having a football field size zone to work while hoping they are around and willing to bite. Ever try working outside weed edges from the bank? How about working the dropoffs? Underlying channels? We all have at one point knowingly or not. It sucks! I'm ready to be like tom hanks and build a raft from branches lmao |

How shallow of water can you navigate?

| Thanks, I figured that lunds should fit musky rods being made where they are. I also heard they were made differently than most deep v style boats because of their hull and could get shallower. Which in turn makes them viable where flat bottoms were necessary.
With them being lighter do they get pushed around by the wind alot?
