Posts: 32886 Location: Rhinelander, Wisconsin | I have known Libby and her Dad for years. She fishes hard, and does very well. Got a call from her Dad a few days ago asking if I can fish a charity Muskie event next year. Libby has it already permitted, so I will check into the event and post more when I get the details.

Posts: 1023 Location: Lafayette, IN | Mike, 5 years ago in preparation for my first trip back to Lake Vermilion since I was a kid I stumbled across an article about "Lucky Libby" while studying up on musky basics. The second day my brother-in-law and I were on the water we ran across a dad and daughter casting for muskies in the same vicinity as us. We struck up a conversation and something sounded familiar about these 2 anglers. I asked him what their names were and it clicked! Tim and Libby Hoene. I videoed our little conversation and kept it for posterity. I was really impressed with the way Libby (who was then around 13 years old) could work glide baits and top water's. We were green as gourds and she was very excited to help us without coming across as a know-it-all. It's been exciting to see her continued success and hopefully her character and skill will take her places in angling that she'd like to go. Thanks for the link to the story.

Posts: 484 Location: St. Louis, MO., Marco Is., FL, Nestor Falls, ON | I met Tim and Libby this summer up in Nestor FAlls. Talk about a couple of characters who are absorbed in Muskie fishing! Had fun talking with them on shore and later on the water. They are really focused on muskie fishing.

Posts: 585 Location: Gaithersburg, Maryland | She's been featured a couple of times in the Muskies, Inc. Magazine. What impressed me about her about a year ago was when she passed up getting a free reproduction mount(she already had one) from Lax Taxidermy for a constest she had won, allowing the next angler to get a free reproduction. That was quite generous of her. Our children are our best partners. Sons AND daughters.
