Posts: 1430 Location: Eastern Ontario | I wouldn't pay the $50 the **** wants for his baits in the first place. LOL I can get 2 cobbs for that price and they catch fish not fishermen. If he sells any of those at them prices well I may have some land for sale real soon.

Posts: 2061 Location: Belgium | TM, I second that. Cobb's baits are great. This is by far the most insane lure-price that I ever saw for a lure!

Location: Minneapolis, MN | That's nothing! Have you seen what some of the real collectable lures go for on eBay? There's LeLures on there for well over $250. The old Heddon's go for over $1200 sometimes. Anything collectable (avail only in very limited quantity) are valuable to someone, including lures. That value is determined by what someone is willing to pay for it.

Posts: 4266 | I wouldn't pay that kind of money because I'm not a lure collector. There are some outrageous prices being paid for rare or one of a kind things all over the globe. I'll just be glad when some people lose their ill feelings for JW and forgive him for his major business screw up.....which is what it was. Carry your feelings with you if want, but I've got lots of his lures and every one runs true and is made better than any other glider that I've got. Like him or not, you can't deny that his gliders are masterpieces. I didn't get envolved in the beginning, so I don't have an axe to grind. But I've got over 40 of his lures and the next good looking color that catches my eye just might wind up in the box. But alas, his prices have gone up and even I won't fork over 60+ dollars for lures that I bought for less than 40 just two years ago. I'm glad that I loaded up the box when I did. Beav

Posts: 342 Location: Passaic, NJ - Upper French River, ON | I got a kick out of the "only" part before $900. Maybe they should have priced at "only" $899. Wait for the exchange rate to get better, and maybe they'll become a "bargain" at $850. !!!

Posts: 2061 Location: Belgium | beav, I'm not taling about his lures or how they work but the outrageous price they ask for one of these crankbaits! I can get a boat over here for that kind of money!

Posts: 4266 | I know. I recall a "collecors" HR that was made for a MI group that fetched a pretty penny at one of the Ashton Auctions. Beav

Posts: 150 | I was dealing heavy in antique lures until the last few years and have seen several bring over $10K. A very rare Haskell Minnow just sold at auction last month for $92000, $101,000 after buyer fee. I sold a few in the 3-4K range. Collectors will pay top money for quality (ANTIQUE) lures but usually the commemorative or repro stuff wont bring more than $100. I doubt many people would pay $800 for a "special order" HR. I own two HRs and they swim great and catch fish but would never buy one as a collectable. If anyone has any old baits and would like to know if they are worth anything, drop me an email. RandyW

Posts: 2061 Location: Belgium | randy, do you have values for jerkbaits and crankbaits as well? I'll try to take some pictures of lures that I would like to have estimated, if possible. If you can, please email me at [email protected] Thanks!
