Hit the water (Shabbona) tuesday for about 5 hours, couldn't get any suckers so I decided to troll all day to cover water and look for schools of bait fish.
Everything I was marking was from 16' down to the bottom so I let some line out to put my baits in their faces. Got one rip and three tree's NO SKI'S. So for the last hour I decided to get out the ol Fuzzy and try and scare one of those bottom dwellers up. About 15 minutes later FISH ON, she fought hard and stayed down (Oh yeh all day in the cold has finally paid off). Got her up to the surface only to see what I thought to be a huge football sized Walleye, COOOOOOOOOOOL........ NO DICE, snagged a FAT A$$ catfish in the side about 26"-28". Oh well, time to go home, park closes at 5:00, AT LEAST I DIDN'T GET SKUNKED!!!!!!!:)

Good Job Ralphie!

Nice to see you advanced your guide services from Muskies and Gar to Muskies, Gar and Catfish!

You couldn't find any suckers? You should have sewn that cat on a quick set rig. That would have scared up one of Shabona's monsters! Are you sure that's not a chocolate bar, that gold wrapper is mighty purdy.
Nice work Ralph! I got my 1st fuzzy fish this fall, a 25" pike. Cool baits if you have the patience.
good lungen,

Todd,

It was awsome, water temps were 36-37 and I had the whole lake to myself, not another boat on the lake. There was a guy casting from shore for a couple hours but that was it. I should have been jigging the whole day, maybe I could have brought home some dinner.:)

Do I see a "whiskers-r-us" website, hosted by Mr. Musky Fever, in the near future?
