Posts: 16 | Just wondering how the anglers are doing for all species including musky in Minnesota water? We changed our original plans to a Minnesota resort in August just to be on LOTW. It will likely be a multi species fishing trip with walleye & smally's being the prime target instead of Musky. We are making the trip to the NW angle by boat

Posts: 20248 Location: oswego, il | Traverse bay is bigger than LSC. Going to be a long boat ride and you better have a light wind. I have been in a slow conga line of boats just going back to Young's and that's just a short open area to traverse. Good luck. Edited by ToddM 7/6/2020 12:43 PM

Posts: 2059 | curious where you plan to launch and what resort you'll stay at in the angle...I assume you don't plan to make the run daily?

Posts: 16 | I was told a couple of the river lodges will accommodate letting us park there. We're staying at Flag Island. I'm in a PRO V 19 and my two other buddies are getting picked up and paying for the ride. If anything I'll plan on following the guide boat if necessary. We just want to fish and being on LOTW Minnesota side will be far better then fishing anywhere else IMO. It will force us to try new things. I appreciate everyone's comments

Posts: 36 Location: Kansas City MO | I just got back from there Thursday. Launched from Warroad and stayed at Sunset. Fished for 5 days. It's a lot of hitting the same spots over and over again. We had five on but never managed to get one in the boat. Saw 6 others. The MN side fishes very small. We only fished muskies but others were doing well on Walters and bass. Hope this helps. Good luck!

Posts: 116 | Unfortunately all the fun structure starts at the Ontario border. I had a boat partner that was denied entrance at the order because of a 26 year old DWI so we went back to Warroad and boated up to Oak island. It was 33 miles which isn't a big deal, I have done considerably longer day trips on Lac Seul and LOTW many times. Be careful and take your time, there's nowhere to hide out there. A good share of the trip is quite shallow. As stated above, the Minnesota side fishes small...especially if you know what is to the north. I personally would not do that again.

Posts: 2059 | There’s certainly some stuff to fish around brush, lambert, flag and oak but if noone can go any further feels like it would turn into Meri go round in a hurry ... and yes it would be torture to be that close to the good stuff!

Posts: 16 | Everything you all are saying I agree with and definitely thought about the proximity to Canada water and how difficult it's going to be staying put. If it wasn't for making this primarily a walleye smallmouth trip I likely wouldn't be going. I'm Getting setup to drag bottom bouncers for walter. Looking forward to a multi species trip for once and targeting action fish. Thanks again for the reply's

Posts: 425 Location: Roseau | We have a place on Brush and have made the trip 3 times this year. purchased a 24' tritoon and there have been 2 times on the way home it would have been really tough and slow in even a 621, but still doable. You never know what is between garden and south shore for wind. Came back Sunday and Angle was flat, Warroad was flat and in-between were 4'-6'. Good luck and be safe
