Posts: 106 | I am looking to buy some beaver baits. I don't have any yet. Just wondering which size people prefer better the baby beaver or the xl. also what colors some to be good?

Posts: 455 | I had a beaver when it first came out. It seemed to light as far as weight, and I had to fish it slower then I prefered. They did come out with a lake version since that has more weight and can be fished faster from what I assume. Basically a super sized swim jig.

Posts: 6 | FYI....You can add screw in weights to the head of all the beavers. I think you can't go wrong with either size.

Posts: 304 Location: Lino Lakes, MN | take your original beaver and install the screw in weight kit. I think Thorne Bros had it on the shelf last week. it comes with the threaded inserts and some weights. you just need to drill a hole into the beavers head. I did it for 2 baits. Be careful of the wire in the head.

Posts: 114 | All Baby Beavers have the screw for installing a weight. I've replaced the tail on the mini with the standard tail and added weight, it works really well. Try it, you'll like it. Great baits.

Posts: 69 Location: Royalton, MN | Those both work, but I tend to toss the Baby Beaver more. They're perfect with a 1oz screw-in weight. Don'y forget the Baby Beaver Mini with a 3/4oz screw-in. It has great action. This week I've been using the Lake Edition Beaver. Casts like a bullet and I can easily get the bait down 20' while still ripping it pretty quickly.
