Guys, the site is driving me crazy. It''s not my computer cause every other site I visit is just fine. This still loads very slow (despite hitting the "refresh" button 4 thousand times) and is erractic. Sometimes it''s only a bit slow, sometimes it takes forever for a page to load. Makes me so I avoid coming here. Come on guys.....DON''T make me go back to MHM!!!! (It''s an idle threat but I had to say something)

Still Smilin,

You're not alone Doc. By the way do you have a replacement tooth for Jason?

Steve/Jason,

I have noticed that the site loads erratically (sometimes not at all or only partially), but definitely extremely slowly. In the past 3 days I have timed-out trying to get in here or moving between sub-boards at least 8 times. Yesterday I tried 3 times to post a message, but each time it disappeared into the black computer hole and I got a time-out server message. It''s been going on 3 weeks now, and things are no where near where they were a month ago. Clearly the problem is not the site itself, because nothing has changed here... the problem is in the background.

Right now, both MC and MHM load in a fraction of the time that MF does, and if it isn''t fixed soon, it is going to badly hurt the reputation of this site and the traffic that comes here.

After 3 weeks, the ISP should have no excuse for not providing the services at the level they were before. If they made the decision to switch carriers, then it''s up to them to get this sorted out IMMEDIATELY. I''ve never been a big Sprint fan, their service in Ontario sucks. I have had numerous problems with them over the years. They talk a big game and make lots of promises but often fell short when it came time to delivering on them. They always seem pretty capable of finding lots of excuses, and could always make lots more promises. And they always seem to have a few little "quirks" that they conventiently forgot to tell you about BEFORE you signed-up to switch over.

Be careful guys. This topic has been discussed a few times before and the posts get pulled. It is a touchy subject. [;)]

I agree with all of the previous posts. You've got a terrific site here, BUT if I can't get here, OR post messages than it's not really worth trying.

I can't tell you how many times I have to wait, and wait, and wait on a 56K or on a cable connection. It's getting to the point where I don't even bother anymore.

Here's hoping we don't lose a valuable resource!

Ok, guys;
We are PAINFULLY aware of the problem, and can only go as far as our isp allows. We paid for the service, and they will correct it, or we will go elsewhere.

Look around at the site and tell me where we have lots of advertising $$ coming in to make a serious switch.

We are not alone here, and it will get fixed, as soon as it is possible.

Thanks for the explanation Steve. Just glad to know that you are aware of the problems and that my completely archaic P.O.S. computer is not the problem.

Tight Lines...

Just got off the phone with our webserver folks. They have alittle less hinder than a half hour ago! Definitely a problem with Sprint, a VERY unreliable internet service provider. He has several sites with the speed/timeout problem, and we are going to MOVE!!

We are changing our ISP next week for certain, and will be high speed!!

Jason and I will warn everybody when the changeover is going to occur, should not be offline long if at all.

If you think this has been frustrating for you as a visitor..................[:(]

We have been working on this and its a daily discussion between us on this subject. I know its slow, heck I tried to post on this at noon and got timed out at work. There are times like right now that the site is cooking fast too.

Things that have helped me is to keep my temp internet files low. Also when my post times out, I hit the back key, then the forward key and hit submit again. That works, I know I just had to do it.

Steve and Zach have been yelling long and hard on this one. They wont give me the phone number, good thing.. They must know I will SCREAM!!![]

Please understand that we know all the problems, because we all are in here alot. I spend at least 3 hrs a day on this site, keeping subject matter going for all to learn from.

Please understand we are working hard for you.[]

Steve, Jason....sorry about giving you a hard time about this. I know there isn't anything you can do yourselves if the ISP ain't going to fix the problem.

We appreciate all the time and effort you guys put in (Zach too) despite the fabulous monetary compensation you receive related to this sight[;)] .

Thanks for the update guys. No slam meant against you folks - I know this hasn't exactly been a fun adventure for you guys, and was sure you were working awfully hard to get it fixed. I suspected the problem was Sprint right from the get-go, and am not surprised that I was right. My past experiences with them speak for themselves - obviously not much has changed. I am relieved it not at my end and that others are having the same problems as I am.

Keep up the good work guys; this site rocks!

As you all knew me from the other board, I''ve been very discouraged by the new board. Because of this I''ve bagged the internet word and have resorted to the old days of the phone. Finally was able to log on to post my *****. Hope you work it all out. I think I''m the only nut who has posted with discussion on the larry in the past.Huge fish these days from the larry. Sooner rather than later I''ll post my pics if I could log on most days.

i made a great couple of posts-both timed out. everybody would have wanted to read them and respond. they were wonderful.

hopefully they'll get this board fixed, there isn't much to read on MH board and the design of the AAMC board makes it really hard to follow a discussion

I can't even hold a connection long enough to update the site....frustrating. I am moving this site soon to a reliable line, I will keep all of you updated, and thanks for the patience.

Steve VL,

Wait five minutes, it'll change. You got VERY lucky. I am going to try to have at least the message board moved by tomorrow.

Steve, Jason & Zach,

I'm so glad to hear that you guys are gonna change servers. I can only imagine the headaches you've had over this situation.

Just wanted you to know that I visit your site EVERY day. Although I may not post each time, I look forward to learning something new or laughing at a particular post with each visit.

It just got a little hard to take with the site being down for a week(?) and so slow when it was back up. I congratulate you on providing such a worth while resource for everyday fisher people (ladies included, of course) and pro's alike. I've always felt that your best piece of tackle is knowledge, and this site provides ALL of us with a huge tackle box worth of knowledge.

Looking forward to faster connections and learning and laughing some more.

Patiently waiting,

J.P.

Reguardless of the posts myself and others have posted on our frustrations at the slow loading times, we all know you guys put alot of heart and effort into this. So, just so you know, we appreciate it. Jason, maybe i will make the trek to Pewaukee next year and we can toss our Tuffys up on a slab and compare.[] I have a 17' deep v. I know your is bigger but mine works really well.[:0]

Zach and I took steps today to guarantee a fast, fun, educational, kick-BUTT MuskieFIRST.

We will be updating you as we go, and let you know when the many new features we will be premiering are on the way. The first thing we needed to do was get back in control of our own destiny, and we have done that.[:sun:]
