Subject: Who has suckers?

Does anyone know any bait shops who have decent suckers left in nothwestern Wisconsin? I want to get out for the last time Tuesday, but would like some 12 inch or bigger suckers. If no bait shops, does anyone have a personal stash they will not use? Thanks Jason Malone

Jason,

Give Bob Neidhold from the club a call. He had some suckers in a live box off the end of his dock and Monday he said something about giving them to someone who was still fishing.

I got my last bunch at Pastika's in Hayward...last friday morning and they had a whole lot of them.
You had to pick for the bigger ones though.

Previous to that I have been geting them in Spooner at AAA Sports.
I was there about 2.5 weeks ago and they had about a dozen left and werent sure if they would get more (it was right when the lake freezing started)

I would try there though, I think a better chance at bigger ones if they have them cuz it's away from hayward and not as "picked" through.

where abouts are you in NW Wis??

I remember a couple years ago, it was the last week of the season and I was looking for "shamu" sizes, the only place that had them was Bridge bait in Park falls, I hoofed it over there and got a couple.
have to call information for their number, dont ave it.

good luck....don't forget the quick strikes!

Thanks for the info. I will give Bob a try or maybe take some time out of hunting and run to Spooner. I live near Marshfield, but will be back hunting in the Colfax area til monday and fishing on tuesday. Does anyone know if Apple river sports on highway 8 over by deer has them? Thanks again Jason Malone
