Location: Ludington, MI | Looking for something to reel primarily D8s, but some D10s. Would rather not buy old stock. I see that Tranx 401s are available in a couple different ratios, but I'm wondering what else is out there? |

Location: SW Ohio | I'm using Diawa's Lexa 400s. Not as expensive as a Tranx but i can't say how the two compare since I've never used a Tranx. I have no issues with any of the Lexa 300s or 400s I'm running. |

| either the tranx 401A (5:8 gears) with the power handle on (have to purchase separately, unfortunately) or the new revo toro beast 61 in the 4:9 gears - just got one off ebay and was messing around in a pond with some blades and it felt very smooth |

Location: Ludington, MI | Thank you for the replies. I like my Lexa 300. I have not tried the 400, but in doing some reading it sounds like there were changes to the reels since the initial years? I may end up with a Tranx, but I saw people recommending the 500 over the 400 series and I haven't seen a 501 model out there. (Of course). I do like the idea of a Toro beast in lefty as well. I think cranking fast with a lower ratio suits my personality better than cranking slow with a bigger fast reel, if that makes sense? |

Location: Chisholm, MN | Ratio on Tranx is personal preference. I like the high speed and have thrown supermodels with ease. I wouldn't want anything but a tranx 400 or 500. |

Location: NorthCentral WI | 401D has great power for blades and I personally like the feel of a round reel better than low profile frames. |

| I really like the Tranx 401A with a power handle best for double 9’s / 10’s and overall use. I use the 401AHG for burning... works best for me with double 8’s. |
