| Im putting my lexa 300 handle on my tranx 300. Everything fits great but the nut retainer screw hole is too far away so I cant put it on. Is this going to be a problem? or should i prob be alright and thats more of a safety just in case.

Location: MN | Did you try the nut from the Lexa, will it fit the thread of the Tranx drive shaft? If not then see where the Tranx nut plate hole lines up with the hole in the Lexa handle. You can always drill and tap a new hole to make either solution work |

| The nut from the tranx is bigger then the lexa. The tranx nut retainer is too short to reach the screw holes on the lexa handle and the lexa retainer is too small to fit over the tranx nut. I have an extra lexa retainer, im thinking about taking the knipex and cutting a peice out to fit half way around the tranx bolt. Im thinking that should be enough to stop the bolt from accidently getting loose? |

| The Lexa 300 Nut does not work on the tranx 300. it screws on fine but isnt long enough to hold it together tightly like the slightly bigger tranx nut. |

Location: Chisholm, MN | I've had the nut retainer fall off a tranx. I tried to limp by without it but ended up ordering a new one within two weeks because the nut did come loose and almost lost the handle. I would figure out a way to secure it. |

| Maybe a little locktite would be a good idea if you don't want to mess with drilling and tapping a new hole. |

| Thanks for the replies guys. So winging it without a retainer is not an option. Id rather not drill a hole in the handle unless i have too. the locktite seems like a good idea but will I be able to get the bolt off later on? I was thinking about cutting a slice on the retainer with the knipex and bending it outwards to fit around the bigger tranx bolt. |

| The screws on a Tranx that hold the side plates on have blue lock tite on them, pretty sure the one that holds the retainer on the reel handle does as well. |
