Well leaving for the northwoods Thursday night for a week of surf and turf..........will I need the boat or the tip-ups???

Whats the call north of HWY 8 in Wisconsin for next weekend

Jim,

Bring the boat, you'll find open water and what little ice may be left in the back bays will be unsafe to venture out on.

Forcast for most of the week is lows in 30's and highs mid 40 to possibly 50 on opening day.

I sure wish one of these years, it would be nice and cold for the opener. Nothing like getting to your stand, and dawn breaking crisp and clear. 50 sucks, 25 would be better.

But, on the bright side, it should allow me to fish the last two days here in WI. Silver lining.

Last year we were on ice on Thanksgiving Day in Phillips....with a rope tied to shore mind you...but fishing none the less......think it may be bull dawgs instead of shiners though.......7 degrees overnight in Bay De Noc last weekend and 50 in northern Wisconsin this coming weekend......wild
