Posts: 4053 Location: Land of the Musky | As of January 2019 all TI and Vexan rod new production is using NEW designed blanks! As of 1-1-2020 Tackle Industries and Vexan are letting everyone know about the new blanks on all rods. The new blanks have a brand new design that makes them 20% lighter and a LOT stronger. In 2018/2019 we did a considerable amount of testing on the new blanks and as you can see they passed with flying colors! Up to 800lb gators using an XH rod meant to throw 2-8oz lures. These new blanks have incredibly strong backbones on them yet will throw light lures like a dream!! Most of our inventory has the new blanks already too. Industry average for breakage from manufacturing and user error runs in the range of 5% to 8% on rods and with our new blanks TI/Vexan has pushed our warranty breakage to less than 4% now which is incredible! We now have some of the lightest, stronger and most sensitive rods on the market. If you are at any of the musky shows this year please stop by. We also now have a few new models of PRO TI/Vexan musky rods using the all new Outdoor Grips Revolution reel seats too! We will have some incredible specials on the new rods at the musky shows this year. Posts: 112 | Awesome! Does this apply to the telescoping/2pc blanks too, or is it the 1 piece blanks that have been upgraded?

Posts: 4053 Location: Land of the Musky | Yes, all of the XH rods for TI have been converted. Most of the XXH and MH have too but there are some models that still have the old blanks on them. All of the Vexan Big Game rods have the new blanks on them and so do all of the TI TANK and Vexan TANK rods. https://vexan.com/product-category/rods/vexan-inshore-rods/

Posts: 416 Location: MN | Great news! Will you be at the MN expo this year? Would love to handle these. Also, do you happen to have a list of weights of the rods, with the new blanks? I realize there are a lot of variations, between powers, lengths, split/full grip. How about a short list like: 9'6" MH FG 9'6" XH FG 9'6" XXH FG then a guideline for subtract X oz for split grip, add Y oz per 6" extra length. If that's too much, I'm specifically interested in the 9'6" XXH full grip, and how that weight compares to the old 9'6" XXH FG and 9'6" XH FG.

Posts: 4053 Location: Land of the Musky | nar160, Yes we will be at the MN show. Right now we only have the 9ft MH full grip and the 9ft XH split grip for the new rods. If they sell well we will add all actions to the lineup in 1pc 9ft rods. I doubt we will make production rods longer as those sales are not nearly as good at 9ft and below BUT we do sell out TI 96, 10 and 106 tele blanks in MH, XH and XXH and the reel seats are available from custom builders. nar160 - 1/13/2020 12:32 PM Great news! Thanks for the response. Can you clarify on the above - are the 9'6" and longer rods being discontinued and only the blanks offered? If so, will these longer blanks be the new lighter stronger material? Or are you going to continue making the 9'6"+ rods, but they will use the same materials they do now?

Posts: 4053 Location: Land of the Musky | 96, 10 and 106 TI rods are all in stock and will be for some time. We do not plan on making them with the new reel seats until these new PRO rods take off for sales and then we will add more rod models with this option to our offerings. And yes, ALL rods being made are either using or going to be using the new blanks. Most rods already have them. The 96 rods do not have the new blanks right now but will later in 2020. nar160 - 1/14/2020 10:50 AM Tackle Industries - 1/13/2020 8:57 PM I doubt we will make production rods longer as those sales are not nearly as good at 9ft and below BUT we do sell out TI 96, 10 and 106 tele blanks in MH, XH and XXH and the reel seats are available from custom builders.
