| Hey guys, I'm new to muskie fishing and wanted to know what some good lures are. I've heard good things about the Mid Medussa lures and Suick Thriller and plan to pick up some of those. Anything else that you guys think I should get (note I'd like to keep everything relatively cheap, I'm a 16 year old highschool student making minimum wage). |

| Depending on the lake or lakes forage base (shad, alewife, sucker, panfish, etc. a Cotton Cordell Redfin in the 7 inch size,chrome and black or chrome and blue is a relatively low cost lure that casts well, twitches great, and is strong enough to handle any muskie I've caught. After multiple fish the chrome may start peeling (they still work) and mid forty on up muskies can sometime put holes through the plastic (causes bait to become a sinker instead of a floater) but I've probably caught a couple hundred or more muskies and hybrid muskies on that lure. They work best on shad or alewife forage based lakes, but I've had success with them on Leech Lake and Lake of the Woods as well. Usually work best with lots of hard twitches during the retrieve. Also if you can, replace the cad plated hooks with heavy 3x Owner or Gamakatsu hooks as the factory hooks don't sharpen particularly well. Best of luck and welcome to the madness of our sport. |

| what a real gentleman.waterwolf tubes are very good ,if you want padletail have a look at shadzilla and rover.if it's for trolling believer and depthraider are really good choice |

Location: Athens, Ohio | May I suggest that one of the best ways to get involved with and educated in the sport is to join a Muskies Inc. chapter in your area. Not sure where you are, but this link will guide you thru the membership process. Some chapters now have free youth memberships to offer, so check with your local chapter's president to see what is available.
Members will often take out new members, and have events where folks your age get together and fish. Chapter meetings are educational and often involve free baits, too. Good luck on your new endeavor. m

A double 9 bucktail, shallow crankbait like a Slammer &/or Shallow Invader , dive & rise (Suick or Bobbie), single blade bucktail, and some sort of rubber. Also sent you a PM |
