| There was an article in the Appleton Post Crescent today about a supposed 60 X 30 release from Green Bay caught last week. Estimated weight of between 60 and 65 lbs. Caught by a bass fisherman on a jig after a 15 min battle. Sounds too good to be true to me. Does anyone have solid info on this fish? Here is the web address for the article in the Post Crescent:

I hope it is true. I would love to see a fish come from Wisconsin that matches up head to head with the 61 lb. caught from Georgian Bay last fall. This fish would be one of the 10 or so largest ever caught and certainly close to the largest release ever. |

| I saw the article. Kinda made me wonder why he didn't mention what pound test he was using? Still, awesome fish. Said he's had it on two other times, amazing. You'd think a guy would fish just for that. Though if he had it on two other times, maybe he knows something we don't. Who needs 80lb powerpro, heavy rods, and 6500C3s?

| It is looking more and more every day that this fish is the real deal. One of the largest muskies ever caught anytime anywhere. Probably the largest release ever. I understand that there are some real good clear pictures of the fish, which was a very well marked great lakes strain (spotted) musky. We should be seeing them pop up on the internet soon and in the national magazines as well. What I can't believe is that there is almost no mention of this fish on the message boards. After all of the hoopla surrounding the 61 pounder from Georgian Bay last fall, now an even larger one is caught and RELEASED, and no one even seems to notice. |
