One more "Big Lip" from the lure elves down in the basement. The actual lip dimensions are 3" (extension beyond the nose of the lure) long and 3" wide on a lure that is nominally 8" long and 1.25" wide. The angles on the photography can make the lip look much larger. One rattle chamber, glass cabochon eyes.

I just tried out my two "Big Lips" with and without a tail and was generally pleased with the action. Without a tail the lures have a hard back and forth action using the line tie connection closest to the nose and the middle position. No real evidence of "wander" at 2.5 mph in these line tie positions. In the third position the lures show a sharp wander at 2.5 mph. I couldn't go faster because all I had was a 12 pound leader and I was afraid of breaking it. Since these lures are slow sinkers naturally that would have been a disaster. With a large plastic tail the first two positions are similar but the action on the line tie farthest from the nose is what I would describe as a slow wander, about 2 feet to either side of the centerline. It just swings back and forth.
