Posts: 32954 Location: Rhinelander, Wisconsin | We had a terrific wind here yesterday before the rain last night. Looks like many of the trees were stripped down pretty well, and the temp is 45 degrees right now. It was nice having the warm weather for Sue and I to get crappie fishing and to install a rear deck in my 1690, but I'm glad to see it back to 'normal' before Steve and Robb get here to fish an Ashton trip next Friday and Saturday. Everyone I talk to says we are going to have a hard winter this year; any predictions?

Posts: 4266 | I WASTED 3 days up in Phelps. Wed,Thurs and Friday. Bright sunshine, winds out of the SSW 10-20, temps in the mid to upper 70's......didn't see one fish over 36". Colors sure were pretty. My "secret" lake is down 4', so I couldn't even launch the boat! Fished 3 different lakes, and it was like groundhog day......SSDD. Water temps 52-54 on every lake. Still good weed growth, but didn't move anything substantial and I fished from 3-30'. Topwaters, jerks, gliders, cranks, rubber.............Came home early so I could make my daughters hockey practice and my wifes birthday today. Time to head out to the river for some surf and turf. Zach, I'll be in touch and the two of us and Hutch can spend some time on the water when I'm not in a tree. Wish I lived someplace else. Met a guy at the boatlanding at one lake, he said there was a 3 day tourney last week and they pulled over 25 fish out of that particular lake with 85% of them coming on suckers. Come on fall.....time to climb a tree for me. Steve, we gotta call that guy in Minoqua if I spill blood before freeze up. Cap'n Beaver Edited by Beaver 10/12/2003 7:49 PM
