Location: Germantown & Land O Lakes WI | I'm fishing a tourny out there on Nov 1 and have never been on this body of water. I'm not looking for "honey holes" or spots, just some general info like good colors or baits.
I was just kinda curious what guys thought of this chain because lookin at the Sportsman's Connection maps last night..it doesnt seem to be a big producer of Musky.

Location: Seymour, WI | I've fished both Sand and Dam lakes quite a bit and have not had much luck on either lake. The water is quite stained so I would go with bright baits. Dam lake has lots of nice points and stucture to work. I have had some action in Sand Lake on quick strike suckers but missed both stikes. The most productive area on sand is the point on the North side of the lake. There are lots of cribs in Sand on the break lines.
Pitliks resort on Sand lake is very nice for Cabins or lunch.
I've heard the smaller lakes in the chain can be more productive, but have never fished them.

I have fished all of the lakes on this chain. However, all of my experiences have been in summer and early fall. I have to echo what Grass said, the water is stained so bright baits tend to work well. Dam and Sand are the lakes most people tend to focus on but the other three lakes are productive as well.
In the fall Dam lake has several nice points and weed beeds to work and look for the cribs near the breaks on Sand. Late fall the deep humps might provide some action if you are dragging meat. I have always had good luck with glide baits (reef hawgs and hughes river) in the fall. Jakes and baby Depth Raiders twitched slowly have have produced.
Do not discount the smaller lakes as they typically provide action also.
Pitlicks is a great stopping point for lunch or to stay.
Good chance for a fall piggy on this chain, don't always believe what Sportsman write.

| Dam Lake is my old stomping ground. The cribs in front of the resort across and to the right from the old 3-D's resort were always good to me, as was that huge point by 3-D's and the point and weedbed directly across the lake from that. Fish any color you want, as long as it's orange. If you have Tony Rizzo's musky books, he uses the lake map of Dam Lake, unnamed in the book, as one of his examples, and tells how he'd fish it. The mid-lake humps he mentions never produced for me, but I've heard of a few 50's comong off them in good wind. Hope this helps. Mark |
