Season Greetings,
I am not a carpenter but am learning. I want to know how the artisans in this blog cut and shape heavy aluminum diving lips. I want to have my creations able to grind against the rocks. Any advice about sourcing the right guage of aluminum would also be most appreciated.

Band saw and disc sander. 1/8" thick aluminum.
Or have them laser or water jet cut somewhere.

Agree with the others. 6061 T6 Alloy Aluminum in 1/8" (.125) It is fairly easy to cut with an orbital jigsaw or bandsaw.

Find a machine shop with a cnc table and tell them what you want. I buy the metal and they cut them for 35 cents a piece for me.
