What is everyone’s favorite sucker rigs? I used Shumways last fall, but saw some stuff about z-leader rigs. Just wondering if anyone has any preference and why? Also, what size and style of weights do you use to keep the suckers down from swimming on the surface? Thank you in advance!

Lots of factors can influence the weighting. Depth your fishing, wind, wave action, and size of the sucker.

Generally under a light chop, 12" sucker, 1 oz is usually plenty for 25' of water or less. Adjust the line length out to keep him at the depth want. You want him t run around down there.

I also think sometimes you don't want them moving around to much. Muskies can be lazy, and if the sucker keeps running away they can get disinterested. Again, at times .

Smith rigs make by Jason and Fischer Smith. They only take orders once a year
