Any all nighters out there?

Thinking about hitting Hudson (Michigan) one evening this weekend about dark to try my first shot at teeth in the dark. It is going down to about 40 at night will that stop or effect the bite? I was thinking of primarily topwaters which I don't fish much. I have a tally wacker type that I think is a "Musky Buster" and a 'Topper Stopper" These any good? How about bulging a bucktail ir spinnerbait? I also plan to try twitching a Swim whizz also. Any help, encouragement, or advice would be appriciated. Mike..you out there? Have you snuck up to Hudson latly?
thanks in advance.

ive had some good luck with a topper stopper at night but my choice would be a top raider....provides a bit more noise

Lobi,

Usually Hudson has its best bite at night and very early in the morning.

Muskies have been moving up into the shallows and eating the smaller bait fish as they move up.

A black willow leave bucktail, Mepps or Windels, is always a good choice. A black Depthraider casted parallel to the first breaks from 5-8 feet to the 8-12 feet.

I have also caught fish using TopRaiders and Jackpots off the shallow points.

Hope this helps.

Definitely throw cranks, and hair. You don't need to twitch the baits though, as it makes it tougher for the fish to find the bait. Just a straight crank. I also do well with the Giant Scampers at night casting. Great vibration.

With all the pressure northern Wisconsin lakes get, I've been finding that the night/early morning bite has gotten alot better.

Slow retrieves on top waters (louder the better) like the Twin Teaser Tail, Super Top Raider & Gooche's Tally Wacker.

Fast retrieves on BIG bladed bucktails also work well, you have to make as much vibration as possible.

I agree with Tuffy1.....sudden jerks and twitches arent going to help.

No matter what you do, invest in a good head lamp and lighting for your rig.
