What size lure bodies would I use for #8 bucktails? AND solid or hollow beads? Going to give this a try.

I've used a #69 body and hollow beads. I guess the beads would be a matter of preference.

I like the magnum lure body (1/2 ounce) from lure parts online. I think it is #20 in catalog and can get nickel or brass. I use hollow beads on my bucktails and use the heavier solid beads on trolling bucktails.

I would advise to use a solid bead for the clevis to spin on. With the dramatic increase in cost of solid beads I've gone to using hollow beads except for where the clevis spins. I use egg sinkers of varying sizes to add weight depending on how deep I want a bucktail to run instead of using solid beads or lure bodies. More cost effective and I don't think the fish care either way.

Use solid beads, especially as Huss says, behind the clevis. I only use hollow beads on hairpin style spinnerbaits.
