Location: Cudahy, WI | After a mind altering encounter with a 52"-54" fish on Cass Lake last week, I've come to the conclusion that I'm not the same person. Something about having a fish of that size jumping twice at boatside and making eye to eye contact with you at a distance of 2 feet, changes a man forever. I will not rest and will persue the beast that haunts me until I die, just as Captain Ahab did. I've always concidered myself a bit of a fictional charachter anyway. Actually thinking about lopping off a leg just to complete the transformation.

My winters were set by the time left until my next Wabigoon trip. My summers were set by when I might be able to sneak back. When I DID get the beast, I was NOT disappointed, had no loss of BIG MUSKIE drive, but I DID feel way better about defeating the fish that had beaten me at least three times. You are correct, sir, this is nutz. Welcome, Ahab, may your quest be long, enjoyable, and result in the beast hitting the bag! |
