Posts: 2269 Location: SE, WI. | Roy, Yes, remember Gene well. Saw him fishing breaks and deep coontail with creature spins. Twin was the perfect lake for jigs....deep weeds, and fairly clear water. Remember Latino and Helm, tore up that lake in the fall. There are a lot better jig heads today, then there was in the past. Very good technique for high pressured lakes. Never felt like I was missing anything following a boat on a weed edge, & fishing a creature;) JD Edited by jdsplasher 7/2/2018 5:17 PM

Posts: 2269 Location: SE, WI. | Creatures have been getting the job done in recent tourneys. Stuck 6 creature fish the past 2 weeks, with 4 being in tournaments/Outings. Creature Spins/ Split tails, and Frogs are working best!!! Musky fishing has been tough for Most. The fish left 2 pods of eggs on the bump board this past weekend. So, needless to say, their still spawning A small tournament win got the Money, as The Creature dominated again!!! JD I know, I hear this from Many, Creatures are a boring way to fish:) Edited by jdsplasher 5/20/2019 12:16 PM Attachments ---------------- IMG_1974[1].JPG (91KB - 719 downloads)

Dan, I’ll try to find the post we had going few years ago. Both Steve and I had small, well, my article was small, info on how to fish creatures, and how to, “Presentations “ on creature fishing. My internet is currently out, so will look into it later today... think it was under tackle& Equipment. Think the post, key words were shallow water jigging. Have to do a search... Yep, found Post for U Dan... go to tackle/ Equipment ! JD Edited by jdsplasher 5/22/2019 7:52 AM

Posts: 2269 Location: SE, WI. | Years ago when I would purchase the Paddle tail creature in Steve's article, I'd buy them by the 50 count. Problem was, the seller would ship them in a quart bag, which they came all Kinked up, Deformed, Balled up and stems/bodies were distorted. Which lead to the lack of the paddle tail thumping, which pretty much defeated the purpose of the Paddle... Which Drove me to produce, and pour my Custom Poured Creatures. Here is a pic of my patterns of paddle tails. If you notice, the stem area, in front of paddle is thinned down to give the tail more thump and vibration while blasting off the bottom. Granted, ripping throw weeds, the tail after some point, tore and broke free. Though with these thinner stems, A hardener product is Used to help with durability. That's why there is some with a thicker stem and more durable for that tactic and condition. Every body and stem in this picture has a specific terrain in mind. ALL my Creature creations lay flat in Boxes, where they are perfect to fish!!! No kinks, and NO poorly deformed bait. In the past, I seemed to miss several fish in Springtime. I seemed to notice my drop speed of jig may have too fast, hence fish missing the jig. One thing you can do is simply go to a lighter jig....OR, some things I did was... A silicone skirt slowed drop speed... A wider body paddle tail seemed to glide and slow drop speed... The split tail Frog slowed drop speed... The lizard with holes in tail....Water sifts through, slowing drop speed... Also the creature spin W/ larger blade and Skirt, slows drop speed... There is also a product to add to your plastic, which incorporates air bubbles in plastic to slow drop speed....allows it to float... I also pour Cork in tail for you sight fisherman, to get that tail to stand, on a pyramid, or stand-up jig head, while you creep that jig closer to the Muskies mouth. Pretty cool to see that fish Slurp the creature IN. Also for the dead stickers, that keep that creature motionless late in the fall. Posts: 2269 Location: SE, WI. | With the crappy weather, started some winter projects. With the frogs working great last spring and fall, I wanted to try a couple different colors. Tried a green chartreuse and was not real thrilled with the transparent color....SO added a bunch of Green Fleck. Also put some Opaque coloring in the green, as I like opaque colors better. Also did a Motor oil/ top frogs. Also added green/orange fleck that I thought looked GOOD! A watermelon pattern. The other colors were working standby's from last year. You like the greens? thanks JD Attachments ---------------- IMG_1073.JPG (57KB - 651 downloads)
