Thanks for the likes...NO8.... Steve.

Interested to see  how effective the larger Creatures  will be in Spring?

That would be Cool to bring back the swimmer head. Hopefully a nice collar would be Ideal!

That's what he's going to do. I wonder what happened to Repka's molds.

Can't wait to fish those frogs I got from you last year, there isn't quite weed beds grown yet so I'm just waiting for that or to start seeing fish!

Brendan; no need to wait for weeds. I use these for our opener here in WI. Very few green weeds at opener.
Besides, hear of many reports where pike and Walleyes have frogs in Stomachs late ice. Frogs start climbing out of the mud as Ice goes out!

Made a dozen Spins for a upcoming Swap.

Can't seem to find the 6/0 Brute hook once used in my 3/4 oz. swimmer head mold. SO; Transitioning over To a 3/4 oz. Stand UP Jig Head for the creature spins. The 7/0 swimmer hook fits perfectly in this mold, and think its an improvement from the 6/0 brute hook.

Going to still search for a hook that works in my swimmer head mold. Going to try a 8/0, or 9/0 . I did get the 7/0 swimmer hook to work in the swimmer head mold, just thought the shaft was a tad short. I still have about 20 jigs left of the swimmer heads. After that....WELL...who knows what I find :

Beautiful work! I need to force myself to fish that swimmer jig and the other frog type plastic, can't seem to goat myself into fishing it over my beloved glidebaits or big bass jerkbaits. Do you pour any smaller plastics for musky?

Yes, thanks for asking. There are a few guys fishing these creature spins in river systems in PA. Also a couple Guides using them in Northern WI.

I pour about 40 different patterns of paddle tails , twin tails,  worms, and lizards. Along with the small BAT’s, and large twin tails(BAT’s) The twin tails for spinnerbaits, and bucktails R game changers. Got a few friends fishing these twin tails, and they can’t get enough of them. Constantly getting bit, and going through them like French Fries;) Pics of these bat’s R also in my Winter project post on spinnerbaits ,&  blades along with video of the trailers in action.

Several patterns R on page 1. If there is something your interested in seeing, let me know. Many patterns I haven’t posted.

I even pour 2” straight tails for perch, and eyes. I use them for cohos and trout.

Few post up, I talked about looking into a different hook for my swimmer head. Picked up a few 8/0, and 9/0 swimbait hooks , Did a bit of milling on Mold and got an 8/0 and 9/0 to work with minimal trimming.

Hopefully you can make out the difference Between the 8 and the 9. Nine seems to extend further  away from jig, about a 1/4 inch . SO, Id like to extend the colar a bit, and the 9/0 lets me do that. It may also ad a tad of weight to the already 3/4 oz. size. BUT, the 8/0 seems to be similar length to my last hook, just a bit more bite.

Both seem to be a Nice improvement, and LOOKING for a few Opinions from you expert Creature fishers:). The 9/0 with a bit of orange is on the Left.  Hopefully this pic lets you do that...….I may even send out a sample or 2;)

Thanks,

JD

Swimmer jigs are hard to find. I do like that you are producing. Is 3/4 standard weight? or can you make them a little lighter?

Greg; My 3/4 oz mold is the only swimmer head I pour. I, and others that wanted something lighter, just have them Not Painted until they take several strokes on this jig from a file. You can lighten up fairly quick. And sometimes cut a design to really get this thing to Hellicopter, with a glide descend;) What’s nice is now I can pour a 8/0 and 9/0 swimmer hook in mold!!!

I’ve even taken a chain saw file and cut grooved cylinders on each side of hook eye, to cut, slice weeds.

If I can find someone to cut a 1 ounce or larger Swimmer Is my next jig.

Most guys that confront me on this jig, want something 1 ounce or 1 1/8 oz.

I like the looks of the 9/0. That's a mean looking jig! If you're wanting another tester, I'm in! Paint or no paint, makes no difference to me. I rarely paint the jigs I pour.

They look great. Seeing your into your own plastics basstackle has a good sale right now. Might find something good. I got myself the snake eye shad mold. Thinking that be a good one. Also got myself the twinjector getting tired of cutting and doing it all over again. If you ever got some creature spins laying around and wanna trade let me know.

Here's a recent Creature spin Fish from Vilas county. We casted most of the day with zero follows. Pulled out the Creature Spins. Immediately had action, and salvaged the day with a hand full of largemouth, and a dandy low 40's Musky. Had a couple other hits that missed the Jig.

I always Have creature Spins available in My creature Tupperware. Excellent lure  when tough conditions present themselves. Usually bring to lure Swaps. Not looking for much. Maybe 10" Jakes in certain colors. Thanks for the post and interest in the spins!

Caught a few Eyes fishing glow lizards at night. Guys are jigging these 50-90’ down. Not much light penetration that deep. Except the glow of a paddle;)
