Location: Duluth | Hey guys a buddy showed me this video over the weekend. I said there is no way this is a 50lb fish. Likely lower 40's, but still an absolute monster for Ohio. Fish was caught April 18, and yea the boga/vertical hold combo not ideal.

Location: Eastern Ontario | This thread could get interesting but I don't think it would make 40. But what do I know I've never had the desire to hang a muskie on a scale. Good on the angler for the releasing her back into the gene pool. Not a fan of the gripper. |

Location: Contrarian Island | hmm I'd go 38 to 42.. 50.75 x 26 comes out to 42.88 ... it's not far off from that imo. nice chub. but nowhwere near the state record..

Location: Aurora | Ugh... hate to get off topic early but I feel compelled to share something i've been using for a while now (see below) but only for controlling the head in or out of the net. Great for water releasing little (low 40's) ones. Haven't needed spreaders since using them either. Tough as nails and the salt folks use the heck outta um. Shipped to your door for less than $10, mulitple colours, the float, and they even have one that glows.

I wasn’t seeing 26” girth, looks like some with measured 23-24” that I’ve caught. That said, you’ve been around far more fifties than I have. If you’re correct on the girth youre correct on estimated weight. |

| If you want the Ohio opinion check out Esox East site. Look under another 50 thread. Seems like a big controversy in the state by Ohio fishermen and the video was edited from the original according to locals.

| Could be 40 pounds. We measured spring muskies pre-spawn that were that length and over 40 pounds. She's plump enough to be close to 40.

These things are brutal on fish.
I've personally landed pike with broken lower jaws because of these grips.
Pike and musky are both known for their rolling they do to try to escape.
If you're going to get a pair of boga's, make sure the head rotates for when the fish rolls. |
