Subject: Does anyone use EON Pro / SX Morrum IVCB?

Is there anybody who uses one of the following ABU reels?
- EON 3600 Pro or EON 3601 Pro
- Morrum SX 3600C IVCB or Morrum SX 3601C IVCB
What do you think of these reels? Do the perform well for you?
What are the biggest/heaviest lures you throw with these reels?
Is it possible to throw lures up to 3oz. with these reels without damaging them?

I do not have any that small (like most muskie fisherman) but, I do have a EON 6600, and a Morrum 5600. Like them both and can throw 6oz. lures as long as my arms and back can hold up.

I can't afford either of those two reels. I still think a 6500 C3 is a big deal!

If you are a Lakelink.com member you can buy an EON Pro for $150.00 from them, awesome deal.

I use both the Eon 3600 and the Morrum 3600IVCB. The Eon is a very nice and smooth reel regardless of all the bad press you hear about them. The IVCB is UNBELIEVABLE smooth, light, and casts a mile. But neither of these are musky reels. They could take the abuse but they can't hold enough line. Even with a 50lb. braid you would still be very limited in capacity, expesially on the IVCB.

We do not have muskies here in Germany. I only fish on pike. I use 8kg braided line, so I think these two reels hold up enough line.
Which reel of these two is the better one? It should work with lures from 1/2oz - 3oz! Which reel is more durable and which casts longer?
What do you think of this IVCB mechanism?

Hi Esox80!

Sweden calling! I think you should go with the IVCB. I have the older 3600SX and I´m very pleased with this reel, strong and durable with excellent casting performance. Are you going to fish in the Baltic Sea? I ask you because both the IVCB and Eon Pro has parts made of magnesium and thereofore they should not be used in salt och brackish water.

Hi Amos!
No, I am not going to fish in the Baltic Sea.
Which kind of lures do you throw with the 3600SX? Which are the lightest/heaviest?
Which line do you have on the 3600SX?
And wich rod do you use in combination with this reel?

Esox80 if you are after big pike forget these (bass) reels and jump to Abu C series or Morrum, both 5000 size.
