Posts: 656 Location: Forest Lake, Mn. | Pete just uploaded a video to YouTube about the stocking foolishness that is going on. Thought you might like to see it. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-G2dR-r9Alw Edited by fishpoop 3/17/2018 10:27 PM

Posts: 153 Location: MN | The idea seems sound. How about using Forest lake. It has good populations and size structure of all species present.

It's a no nonsense idea that would put the question to rest once and for all and the anti-muskie crowd would never go for it in a million years. They aren't interested in what affects the walleye population they only want to keep boats off "their" lake.

Posts: 304 | They could conduct all the valid research they want, and it still would not do any good, unfortunately. The musky worlds argument has been backed by scientific data/research for numerous years, and it never helps. They just say the research is not accurate. For the reasons stated above. Its not really about the walleyes or the health of the fishery.

Posts: 20227 Location: oswego, il | Been discussed before. It has nothing to do with muskies, it has everything to do with not wanting muskie fisherman on the lake. They will bring fake news and manipulation of the truth until they are soundly defeated in a way they cannot continue the arguement or they get what they want. Edited by ToddM 3/19/2018 3:09 PM

As a lake property owner and a lake association member, I am a little confused as to why a lake association would so strongly object to musky fishermen. I have been going to meetings for 15 years, read all the minutes from board meetings and never once heard any issue with musky fishermen. The only thing you hear from time to time is personal water craft and that seems to be tied to a specific group that rent a couple cabins every year at a little mom and pop resort. They bring 3 or 4 older, 2 stroke pwc and they are very loud. For what ever reason, this group gets their jollies by going in tight circles for half an hour to an hour at a time. If the weather is warm they do that for hours. But that has been it for complaints about any user group and even then it was could there be some sort of ordinance so that they were limited in the hours, like between 10 and 5. Maybe because a large percentage of owners also fish?

Posts: 470 Location: Blaine, MN | Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't I read somewhere that the PLPOA (Pelican Lake Property Owners Association) actually approach the MN DNR 30 some years ago, and ask that Muskies be stocked in Pelican Lake?

Attended a seminar he did at a home show in Fond du Lac about 5-6 years ago. Dry sense of humor, pokes fun at himself a lot. Spoke to him briefly after the seminar, came across very genuine, someone who would be easy to fish with.
