I recently ordered the Frabill 8430. This model comes with a tangle free weighted nylon bag, (which I thought was fish "friendly"). How "rough" is the netting on it, do I still need to order a knot less net in the future to better protect the fish?

IMO, having a net that is big/deep enough to totally hold the fish comfortably while still in the water is more important than the material of the net itself. However having said that, you will find that style of netting tangles very easily and fish can roll up in that net causing a giant mess. I had that net when I first started and while it works fine, after a few fish roll up and hooks get caught I replaced the bag with a rubber coated knot less net and couldn’t be happier.
