Posts: 4 | Does anyone on here live around the Polk county lakes? I'm wondering what lakes are still open enough to fish at least this weekend. I have a few suckers left that I don't want to waste. thanks Edited by Esoxhunter13 11/8/2017 7:27 AM

Posts: 90 | How is deer lake for numbers and size? A friend just got a cabin on deer lake. Is there 50 inch potential?

Posts: 7 | I don't fish deer all that often, but like most lakes in that general area there isn't great potential to catch a 50 incher. I do fish Bone quite often and a 50 incher caught anywhere in the area is pretty big news. Both lakes get pressured to hell.

Posts: 454 | Best shot at a 50" in the Polk county area IMHO is Wappogasset Deer/Bone/Apple River high density and some good fish, but not a large BIG fish population. Plenty 45-47" - and I am sure all of these lakes at one time or another spit out a 50", but not common Cedar - slightly better chance and would be my second choice for a large fish after Wappo

Posts: 20218 Location: oswego, il | Anybody ever seen a musky in balsam? I have heard they are present probably in a very small number. What a musky lale that would be.

Posts: 51 | I have not seen one in there but I did talk with a DNR agent about one that showed up on their netting survery. He thought it was a transplant. Would be one heck of a musky lake but pretty heavy boat traffic.
