| Yes besides from the strain,they live longer grow slower and get bigger,if the genetics are thre and food forage is of high protein.Muskies in the south get big fast and their life span is usualy to 10 years and most don't get over 52 inches in legnth.Buffalo Harbor fish take about 20 to 25 years to get to legnths above 50 inches,but for the lack of growth over 54 inches they get fat at the girth,Georgian Bay fish have such a forage base that they can get bigger and fatter much earlier,same goes for the Ottawa River where 60 inch fish have been released.It is a combination of Genes,Forage and Longer Life Span and Catch & Release plays a major part as well.Some Fisheries will never be able to substain fish of Big Porportions,they just don't have all the elements needed,even with the proper stocking of Riverine Strain. |
