Location: Northwest Chicago Burbs | Never used one, but I know that they sold so badly that they stopped making them. Saw once where Pete Maina said that they will work, just in very specific sitautions. What those situations are I cannot recall. |

I guess, and this is a loaded subject that he is the best out there right now and I think, if Pete made it, it was made to catch muskies. The Heddon Slaptail was a very popular lure years ago which I can only imagine this was modeled after and that did and still catches alot of fish. I think after the topraider alot of people have this pre disposition to throw prop baits or glides. If you have a chance, and patience, try one for a while, you might be suprised...........WHAM!

Location: ashtabula ohio | it was a perch pattern bait with a big blade attached to the tail like the old slaptail, but the bait is shaped as a real fish that lies on its side...maybe ill pick it up next week when i go back...? |

| I like the action on it and have had a couple blow ups on it. I use it as a throw back bait once in while. |

Location: Eau Claire, WI | The ol' dying fish did/does work. I have caught fish on it even in early spring. I have modified one of them with taking the original blade off and replacing it with a #5 or #6 (can't remember which) colorado style blade. It really makes a nice "clacking" sound when it hits the fins on the back of the lure.
Far as I know this bait is no longer in production due to poor sales. From time to time there are baits that are made that do catch fish but don't catch fisherman and production stops. After all MMT is a business for Ben and Pete and if they have a bait that doesn't sell they need to discontinue production. They do work so if you like it go ahead and buy it. |
