Is this the one that incorporates a bunch of lakes headquartered out of Boulder Junction?

Steve, there are 4 townships-manitowish,winchester,boulder,and presque isle. Each year orientation is at manitowish. The awards move from township to township.

Hi Tuffy,
I am in, watch for 3 guys in a tan trihull (old 85HP Evinrude) called Filthy Whore 3. We'll be fishing the North & South Turtle, and Rock Lake, staying in Winchester at the Wilderness Inn.

For those who haven't hit it, this is a $30/person contest, trophies (no cash awards) and is one of those that you'll go back to again and again, kinda gets into your blood.

Last year the big fish came in the Sportsmen's Division, a 49" from Presque Isle Lake. In the Open Division (Guides and Pro's and their teammates) the biggest fish was only 39". So any 40" fish for someone in the Open Division would have won 1st Place trophy. Conditions were terrible, 90 degrees and sunny all 3 days.
Hopefully we'll have rain and clouds this year!

See ya there,
Papa Joe

I fished it the previous two years, and should have won it last year if I wouldn't have done on water releases of 39", 38 1/2", and 35 1/2" in the guides division. I will NOT be fishing it this year because of most of the board members being against the 50" size limit. I also do not agree with the transporting and WEIGHING of the fish, which at times the scales are a good distance from shore. TOO much stress on the fish if you ask me.

This is NOT a fish friendly tournament, and I will not fish it again unless they change there procedures.

Does anyone know what lakes they are able to fish? I will be fishing in Presque Isle again this weekend and may want to stay off the lakes on the list.

Hi All,
Sad to report another skunk this year for the Classic. Still I had a great time with my pals from Kaukauna. The weather was better than last year, however the fishing was slow.

We are bound and determined to do better next year, and will spend all we can this winter to ensure less space in the boat for the 2004 Musky Classic..

Tuffy, sorry we missed you, we didn't get out much due to lack of sleep leading up to Friday.

later,
papa joe

A friend and board member of our club won from what I heard.  I heard he got a 40" that was 22lbs, that beat a couple 44's.  My other good buddy(Don Kempen)  and partner got a few legals but nothing over 40 and did not register any fish.  I heard one fish was kept in the tourney and from what I heard, 69 or so fish were caught.  Sounds like everyone was safe, and 1 in 11 people caught a musky.

Well our team did pretty well this past weekend. Our team put a 38 and a 42 on the board. Van Vilet and clear were the 2 hot lakes. Most fish came on bucktails. There's always next year:)
