Posts: 107 Location: central illinois | Water temp please. I'm willing to drive 3 hours and 45 minutes to the northeast if temps are legal. Edited by dway 8/3/2017 10:26 PM

Posts: 77 | I was out on Wednesday night when it was hot. Temps were around 78. With the cold front they should be lower.

Posts: 187 | I'm ready to do my 2 hour trip to the chain every week. It's the closest and best place to catch a Muskie for me. I'll be there Monday or Tuesday.

Aren't you closer to kinkaid or something?

Posts: 107 Location: central illinois | Kinkaid trip would be about the same. Google says 3 hours 53 minutes. Yes, I would much rather fish Kinkaid than the Chain. I'm looking for cooler water though. I imagine Kinkaid is boiling right now!
