Posts: 146 Location: Shawano, Wi | I have been throwing pounders for a couple of years now and have little success on them mostly none. Have a lot more success on mag size lures that are around 8 oz instead of the 16 oz lures. So I ask are they worth throwing if they don't produce for me even in the fall.

That being said... I don't throw pounders year-round I generally wait until the need/situation calls for it. -C7

Posts: 390 | perhaps the pounders are going to deep for the fish you are fishing. I know I pick up a pounder to get down deeper than a mag.

Posts: 1405 Location: Detroit River | Pounders catch big fish but using them comes at a price by putting more wear & tear on your gear & more importantly, more wear & tear on your body. My pounders are collecting dust due to my bad shoulder, which was inured from casting big musky lures.

Posts: 558 | I would only throw them in the lakes that have bigger sized fish. If your using them on the lakes with smaller sized Musky's is probably why you haven't had success on them. They are definitely more of a big fish bait and a 50 plus makes a.pounder look like a regular dawg. Stick with the mag until you fish big fish waters.
