Location: Elgin, IL | Some friends of mine are heading up to Eagle Lake, ONT this weekend (Northshore Lodge). They'll mostly be fishing for 'eyes and pike, but want to fish muskies a bit as well. The weather has been pretty warm and dry. Front moving through this weekend and the temps should be a little cooler, but still sunny. Any ideas on general locations/presentations? Thanks. |

Location: Blaine, MN 55449 | I have fished this lake 5 years in a row and think it is one of the premeir lakes in the region. Orange and black baits work well, with large bucktails and spinners presented slowly, with a twister tail on the back to give more action. Large jerk baits, gliders and pull baits work well, Suicks, Bobbie baits, and all different types of glider baits (Large is better), crank baits that are jointed and large with a tint of orange and also different bright colors work well. Work lots of windy points and deep points, fish into the wind if you can. Also known hot spots on the hot spots map will tell you different areas to fish. If an area looks good, fish it! People sometimes over look areas that are not supposed to have fish there, but there is usually a big one laying there. Never underestimate a good looking spot that does not get a lot of pressure.
