Hi all, I am heading up to Tamarack Lodge on LOTW this fall and I'm looking for input on dates. Between late September and early October what would your choice be? If you've been there during that time window how'd you do?

Your question needs to add some specifics. Are you looking with regard to weather, muskie numbers, or would you rather cast or troll? Put some of what you want to do or hope to accomplish and those who have the answers for those times may jump in with responses. You're in the timeframe of transition between casting and trolling, depending on weather. If you're a Muskies, Inc member, go on their Lunge Log and look what people used during that timeframe in the last few years and you'll see what fish were logged, what they used and whether they were casting or trolling. This is a very good reason to join Muskies, Inc if you're not already a member. That database is gold for planning any trip to any lake.

I've been to LOTW twice in September. Good weather will most likely mean good fishing. Bad weather will most likely mean bad fishing. I honestly think that's what it comes down to. Lots of unpredictable weather at that time of year. For what it's worth, pretty much ZERO fishing pressure that time of year is nice. Tom

I'd try to plan your trip around moon phases, full or new moon. I've always had amazing bites during full and new moon cycles. I'm currently booked for an August 5th to 12th trip on Lac Seul... August 7th is the full moon date. It usually gets fish biting 2 days prior and 2 days after either full or new moon.. good luck. I almost booked Tamarack houseboats during this duration but opt for the long adventure up to Lac Seul by Chamberlain Narrows/Merrit Point...

Shout out to Lac Seul Floating Lodges... Extremely nice people and easy to work with, especially Andrea
