Anybody out there have one of these boats with the biggest rated motor?
I believe the 1650 fishhawk is rated for a 90hp and the 1600 angler a 75hp.
I am going to buy one of these boat but am wondering about topend.
The dealer tells me they should run between 45 and 50mph.
Any comments or first hand experience would be apreciated.

Thanks

45-50? I don't think they'd get that fast. Go to the Yamaha site. They have some boat test results that are pretty accurate. May have these boats tested.

I have a Crestliner 1750 with a 90 honda on it. Loaded up with gear and with my partner I can get to 40 MPH. I wouldn't be surpised if you could hit 45.

I Had a 1650 FH with a 75, would hit 41 on a good day (speedo-not GPS) with just me in it, a 90 will get you a little more, but not much.

Crestliner has speed data, the biggest motor that I have on my list is a 60 Evinrude though, says 34MPH.

1600 Angler with a DF70 Suzuki from Crestliner's sheets is 39.2 MPH

I would be very suprised to see an honest 45mph out of it. I have a 1750 with a 115 on it and it GPS's at 45. If you go by the speedo though I hit about 52. Sometimes there is a big difference between speedometer speed and actual MPH.

Thanks for the info guys.
I agree, 40mph is a little more realistic.

We have a 1650 superhawk with a 50- 2 stroke merc. and a 9.9 kicker 4 stroke. GPS says about 29 to 30 mph top speed with a 3/4 tank of gas.

Alleycat - I have the 1600 Angler with a Evinrude 40horse.
Myself, I get 35 top end. 2 people, 30-31mph.

Hope this helps.

I have the 1650 Fishhawk with 80 horse Yamaha 4 stroke.

Just me in the boat and gear will get 41-43 on the speedo. However, I believe when I tracked on GPS 2 years ago, it was only like 36-38.

No way it will reach mid 40's or 50.
