I was wondering if anyone has ever waterproofed storage compartments before on their boat? I am looking for ideas specifically for the rod lockers and other storage compartments in a alumacraft navigator. Thank you for any info!

Tough to do on a boat that has nothing installed. Key is making sure no water can come in from the bottom, first. If it can, build a false floor above where it might hit normally. On top the lid has to have a raised lip around the entire opening sealed and stable that preferably seals to the lid with a gasket when closed, and all access for water in seams, etc need to be sealed. Pain in the kiester.
