Posts: 21 | I have one. I really like it. Only used it one year, so I cant give a long-term quality guarantee, but I had zero problems so far. I even bought the 8:1 gear, and that baby burns! It throws big rubber perfect. Blades don't throw quite as easy as my barrel style Daiwa Luna, but makes up in versatility because of the speed. I love burning bucktails. In reality, if I had $500 to spend, I would buy a Tranx, but for the price, I really like it.

Posts: 61 | I have a 300HD in 7:1 and just picked up a 400HD in 6:3 will be using it for bigger baits and blades. The 300 in 7:1 works great for smaller bucktails, gliders etc anything over 8's and it's not idea, I have the 300 on a Long Ranger its the perfect combo for smaller bucktails.

Posts: 742 Location: Grand Rapids MN | The 400HG Tranx isn't $500, you're thinking of the 500 model. It's only $300 for the 400. I looked at the Lexa HD for a while but the lefties were limited in gearing options otherwise I would have one. Glad to see someone asked about them as there wasn't a ton of follow up reviews.

Posts: 106 | I have a Lexa 400pwrp and I had the pin through the shaft strip as well as the drive gear. Friend of mine also had problems with the anti-reverse pawls. I'm not sold that the drive gear is strong enough to stand up to seasons of casting and pulling big baits. it sure is smooth when it is working, but I worry big time about the longevity. It's a huge gear reduction and the pressure on the small shaft drive is immense. Got ours fixed up with parts from lurepartsonline.com, so I'll see how they last this year. Those other two broke in a year of casting.
