| On a full charge how long are you guys getting out of your batteries? Took my rig out the other day and batteries died after about 7 hours. I was using the autopilot and cruise control trolling at .5 mph. That seems pretty short to me im wondering if my batteties are going to #*#*?

| Note that conditions and size of your boat will factor into this. If you were heading into the teeth of a big gust of wind all day then your battery life will be lower. Still, 7 hours seems pretty short. Without knowing all the details, it sounds like your batteries are due for replacement. |

| Thi depends on condone like wind, and boat size. I got about 30 hours on an 80# terrova at those speeds in nice conditions with my dads 17.5' warrior glass boat. If it was windy I would get about 14-20 hours speed setting between 5-8. I would guess that your batteries are weak. When was your last replacement and or how often do you add water to the batteries? |

| Also if you switched to this motor from a 12 v motor you need to tweak the wireing parallel vs series |

| Its on a 1750 fishhawk. We had some current and the boat is new to me. Havent checked the water levels. Maybe i should start there

| It also depends on your battery size; what size are yours? I have a 16.5 ft Tracker with an 80 lb Terrova w/iPilot and two Group 30 AGMs. I can usually go 2-3 days under those conditions before my batteries are spent (although I charge them after every outing anyway 'cause its best for the batteries). The larger batteries will give you more time before depletion. But from what you said, your batteries do seem to be sub-par. Make sure your charger is doing its job correctly, too.
It may be just one battery that's bad, too. You can take your boat to an AutoZone or other parts store and they can check your batteries for you with their battery tester. |

Location: MN | It will say 24, 27, 29, 31 for most batteries types and manufacturers. This will correlate to battery reserve capacity in amp hours. The more amp hours available, the more power you'll have for your motor.
If you're curious about your current batteries, most Batteries Plus stores or a regular auto shop will do a free load test on the batteries to see if they are holding a good charge. Charge them up full before bringing them in for a test and you'll see if you need new batteries. |

Location: Mt. Zion, IL | my group 27 batteries are 115 amp hour. your batteries are most likely group 24's. Up size the batteries one or two sizes for the trolling motor batteries. I have a 17 ft alumacraft and we can fish 18+ hours in the aggressive wind without getting to half charge even. |

| I have a 20ft ranger R93 Fiberglass With Terrova 80# 24V system Just replaced all my batteries with The Marine Battery 29 I believe from Advanced auto they have 210 reserve capacity which is about as high as I have seen anywhere...They are also $117 but you can get $40 off $100 Online so you get your big marine deep cycle batteries for about $75 each which is a steal IMO....Used Mine for 8 hours the other day was on a motor restricted lake and could only use troller all day no issue as matter fact Terrova Said We were still at half charge when we left lake after 8++ HOURS...THAT was fighting a good wind all day as well I think I could get 16++ hours before they were dead |
