Looking for "cold" compression numbers for a 95 175 XRI EFI. All I can find are numbers for the engine at operating temperature. I got an initial test with the engine not at operating temp. 6 cylinders were at 95 and 2 cylinders were at 94.5 just curious ihow much higher the numbers will be at operating temp. Any thoughts from some Mercury gurus? Thanks in advance for the info.

I have been told that you can not get accurate compression cold. The rings/piston are not sealed completely when they are cold and readings are inaccurate.
However, youre readings are at least even which is good.

Cold isn't the best way to do it, but your numbers don't indicate any problems. Best to redo them when warm, or better yet to a warm leak down test.
