Subject: Presque Isle Area Fishing Report

Cooler temps and north winds shut off the bigger fish for a few days as water temps cooled about 6 degrees- But the weather and the wind has turned in our favor again- Look for the quality fish to get more active especially in the evening time periods. Nite fishing hasnt really come into its own yet but a prolonged warming trend will help the late bite. The larger clear water lakes like Crab and Presque Isle are getting ready to rumble now-Muskies will be setting up on offshore structure now and taking all but the largest lures.Tip of the week: All sides of an offshore hump are not equal- Muskies will usually move up on the side that has the most gradual taper and will be facing into the wind- Knowledge of the structural shape will allow you to be a lot more successful as muskies will prefer one hump over another based on wind direction as it effects trhat strutural element.
